Informal Learning on Career Planning
The main target group of this ethnographic project is graduate students of the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Our team, consisting of four first-year Master students from Digital Media Design for Learning Program, has conducted over 40 hours of field observation during 8 weeks (September to November 2016). The main observation fields include Wasserman Center for Career Development, classroom of the Professional Application course, and student lounge at the Media and Games Network (MAGNET) center. The methods we employed include field notes with photography or screenshots, activity handouts collection, and follow-up interviews.
